If you want your home to be a place that nurtures you, but you aren’t sure how to create that feeling in the middle of real life, you’re in the right place!

Are You a HomeBody?

HomeBodies notice how our homes make us feel.

We notice when a room feels peaceful and welcoming. We notice when it feels cluttered, unfinished, overwhelming, or just a little off.

We notice the atmosphere of a room, the comfort of a favorite chair, the beauty of fresh flowers on a table, and the pile of clutter we’ve been meaning to deal with for weeks.

We don’t expect our homes to be perfect. We simply want them to feel like home.

A place that supports us, inspires us, and welcomes us back at the end of the day.

If that sounds like you, you’re a HomeBody.

Hi, I’m Melissa.

I’m a HomeBody, too. For years, I thought the solution to the peaceful feeling I was looking for was doing more, finding more time, having more money, or finally finishing all the projects on my list.

But no matter how much I accomplished, there always seemed to be something else that needed attention.

I wanted a sanctuary, but that feeling often felt far away with so much still left undone.

What I discovered is that HomeBodies like me don’t have to wait for a finished home.

We’re simply looking for peace.

And that feeling doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from having a simple place to begin, a clear place to focus our attention, and a next step that helps our home feel better right away — even while life is still happening.

What story is your home telling?

People often say your home should be a reflection of you. It should tell your story.

I believe that, too.

But what if the story your home is telling right now isn’t the one that inspires you?

Maybe it’s telling the story of a stressful season, decorating indecision, unfinished projects, or a home that feels overwhelming instead of supportive.

Life is always evolving, and our homes should be able to evolve with us. We need a way to care for our home that makes sense for whatever season we’re in. We need a home that cares for us in return.

A Sanctuary Is for Every Day, Not Just Someday

This is why I created The HomeBody House, inside the HomeBody Gathering Place Membership.

It’s a cozy place where HomeBodies learn how to create a sanctuary for the season they’re in, right in the middle of everyday life.

Inside, I’ll help you find your rhythm, make decorating feel simpler, and create a home that feels more peaceful, welcoming, and inspiring.

One of the first places to begin is Kick Start Your Room, a simple step-by-step guide that helps you make a room feel better right away.

It isn’t about adding more chores, buying more things, or starting another project. It’s a simple way to begin creating the feeling of sanctuary with what you already have — a set of steps you can return to anytime you feel stuck.

A sanctuary isn’t something you have to put off until someday. It’s something you can begin creating every day.
