Ditto DIY Projects {August}

Wow, can you believe it is a few days into August already? I’m so glad my son doesn’t start school until September, we are still enjoying every day of summer. Do your kids start back to school in August? I’m not ready for vacations to be over yet (even though FALL is my FAVORITE, as you probably know heheheheh). I still have some more summer projects on my agenda.

Welcome to the August {ditto} DIY challenge!

Once a month all summer long, ten very different bloggers have been hosting this challenge to recreate in our own homes a project or design element inspired by a haute couture design. The idea is to inspire everyone to incorporate fine design elements into your own home in a way that fits your own style. (For more details on what {ditto}DIY is all about, check out this post}.

But, even with my best intentions to keep up with things I want to do, sometimes I drop the ball. And, to be honest I just couldn’t get to the project this month. I think with the Better Homes & Gardens photo shoot at our house, company in and out and all my son’s summer activities among other things I had scheduled, I kind of lost track of time and overbooked myself.  So, basically I failed this challenge since I didn’t even start it yet! YAY ME! I’m going to give myself a little grace though since I accomplished a lot on my house.

We have been thrilled to have so many of you join our challenge each month this summer. This will be our last challenge for awhile, so join in and link up your project!

  1. I think you picked a good one to skip. :)

    Fondly,
    Glenda

    ps. Each I comment on your blog, it requires me to enter all of my contact information again. (I don’t have to do this on other blogs.) Any idea why?

  2. WOOT!!! BHG is the best excuse ever! (BUT, I had no one to commiserate with last night at midnight.) ;)

  3. I bet the photo shoot was fun :)

  4. You definitely had a good excuse to not do this one! Magazine shoots are BIG TIME prep work. Yes, our kids start school August 1, and we teachers have to go back in late July. I just know the year I retire they are going to change our state date to after Labor Day! LOL

  5. I’m sorry I missed this fun challenge, though I don’t have the great excuse of a BHG photo shoot . . . I can’t wait to see what everyone did though!

  6. Such a cute idea! I would have never thought to DIY a garbage can – but they’re all so good looking!

  7. I just missed the link up on this one! So bummed! Congrats on BHG! SO amazing!
