It is time to check out another of my design boards, for a new round of voting in the $10,000 Your Picks. Your Place. sweepstakes! I had so much fun making these boards. It is inspiring to see a room come together without having to spend a dime or lift a finger!

This time I had to create a “traditional home office,” but I kind of have an aversion to being put in a box and STIFLED like that (HA!) so I’m always bending the rules a bit and creating my own mixed up style board and trying to get away with it. Oh dear! What does that say about me? Please do not answer that.

This board I am going to call Industrial Traditional Coastal because really, Traditional by itself could be a little boring. Let’s not be boring, K?

I fell in love with these nifty coastal / fisherman pendant lights at Pottery Barn — the usual traditional lighting just didn’t cut it for me.

I decided to paint the room Porch Grey from Lowe’s, I thought it would make a nice backdrop for the room. Kind of green/grey, and not too cold. I like it.

I chose a pretty cool work table from Pottery Barn that is a bit taller than the traditional “desk” … I think it would be awesome to have a project table where you could put your laptop while you buzz about the room getting things done. That is more my pace, I never actually sit at a real desk.

I added some woven poof footstools and a super hip Tolix stool, along with a few other accessories and a chair I thought really made the space more comfortable. You can see the entire design on the board below! All the sources for the items are listed at Your Picks. My Place.

I have been searching high and low for lights similar to that one, but in a silver finish. Where did you find those?

Love the look! But I just looked all over PB, PB Kids and PBTeen looking for those lights and don’t see them anywhere! I love them! Do you mind providing the link or the actual name of the light? Thanks so much!

I just tried the link, but didn’t turn up the pendants. Also looked under track lighting and they weren’t there. :( They are hiding from us. I love them!

You have my vote, Melissa. Congratulations on your nomination!!!

P.P.S. Pinterest is helpful, but how do you create your boards?

BTW…the winner of the Traditional Board on Apartment Guide for the living room was a huge surprise for me.
