Are you hosting Thanksgiving this week? I know some of you are from Canada so you’re probably already on to Christmas. Personally I have always thought it would be so nice to have Thanksgiving a bit earlier so it would not be so close to Christmas. Rather than getting into a stressful holiday frenzy right after Thanksgiving, for many years at our house we have enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner by the twinkling lights of a tree.
I prefer to slow the pace and spread out the process so we can savor and celebrate with joy and gratitude through the entire season.
Go ahead and usher in the cozy and festive vibes in any way that inspires you! That’s one of the main reasons why I love natural decorating. It is so easy to flow effortlessly from season to season.
You can decorate your tables with few pinecones, greenery, berries, rosemary, pumpkins, wheat, whatever you’ve got on hand! Make it simple enough to be enjoyable and festive enough to feel special! That’s my motto, anyway. :)
Thanksgiving is at my house this year and I’ll be setting the table for twelve (and yes, we DO have our tree up and sparkling, so stay tuned for that!)! Our table isn’t actually big enough for twelve, so we have our handy dandy folding craft table ready set up to make room for everyone.
I’m so excited to gather around the table this year. There is so much to be thankful for.
I wrote a post about the secrets to gracious hospitality over on Proverbs 31 today. Find it here.
