A few thoughtful accessories can make a big difference in how a room feels.

When I’m looking for something new, I try to choose timeless pieces I know will work well with my style for a long time. This makes future rearranging or seasonal refreshes so much easier, too. Even better if they can be used in more than one season!

Two of my favorite simple decorating swaps are pillow covers and vessels that look pretty alone or with seasonal fillers.

Here are a few examples from my home:

This rattan footed basket is perfect for plants or seasonal florals, but it’s also large enough to make a pretty textural statement all on its own.

This vase is ideal when I need something with a little height—and it even fits on my shallow mantel!

This large vase is so beautiful and looks good everywhere I put it.

I love LOVE these linen-like blue pillow covers (comes in a set of two!) They feel so fresh for spring and summer, but I could easily use them year-round. The fabric and trim is so pretty!

Our brass door knocker has a little basket for a few small seasonal touches.

These cane boxes under our entry table work everywhere! I often use them on accent tables or to sit on a stack of books, plus they are functional as storage or a place to hold collectibles.

This large bowl looks pretty even empty, but it’s also fun to fill with fruit, greenery, or florals in any season.

Everything feels classic and mixes so well with pieces we already have!
