Our NW Coastal Woodland Cottage Backyard: Progress + Challenges

Progress in our coastal woodland cottage backyard We're entering our fifth summer here. How can that even be? I had to count it four times on my hand, and it still doesn't feel right! Somehow time has flown by. I still feel like there's so much to be done, so I'm glad...

Puttering Diaries: The First Week of May

I recently ran across one of my early blog posts where I wrote about puttering, probably for the first time. That post was 19 years ago. HOW? I can't even believe I've been blogging that long. Here's what I wrote at the start of that post: After 21 years together, my...

My Dining Room Makeover! An Evolution {Before & After}

My Dining Room Makeover! An Evolution {Before & After}

My hardwood floors are finished and I’m finally getting around to updating on the progress! I’m so happy with how things are coming together around my house. With the kitchen remodel going on at the same time things have been really crazy around here, but I was finally able to get my dining room set up again. I’m very excited to finally be at the stage where we can put things back and set up most areas of our house again! Fall nesting, here I come!

The Hickory hardwood floors make such a dramatic difference in how my house feels.I love how they fill each room with light, texture and help pull together the classy but casual vibe I was hoping for throughout my house. Because we went with prefinished floors, I was able to have the floors put in with a minimum of fuss and dust and the turnaround time was minimal.

My dining room is always evolving! Come see the latest updates to this room!

Storage for Extra Dishes {New Freestanding Glass Door Cabinet!}

Disclaimer: Please excuse the glass being ridiculously dirty on this cabinet…
I promise I’ll clean the glass when the remodel is all done.

A little earlier this summer I took a fun little trip to HomeGoods with some giftcards that were burning a hole in my pocket. And it was my lucky day, I think, because I found this adorable little cabinet, among other things! Do you have any freestanding cabinets for extra storage?
