I’ve been searching for the perfect plates to hang on the wall ever since I scored a dozen plate hangers for a quarter each a couple of weeks ago.  However, I could only find a couple of “hangable” ones. And I needed six. I could find a good shape, but not the right color. Or I could find a great color with a horrible pattern or tons of chips. It was just not working.

Then I remembered my old, sweet friend: SPRAY PAINT. Why not buy plain plates and spray paint them? Yep, that’s what I did.

When the brilliant idea hit me, I knew that plate hangers would scratch the paint right off of the shiny surface, so that wouldn’t work. So I hatched another plan.

First I picked up four plain matching plates at the thrift store, and actually found two plates that would go very well with the paint I had in mind. Six plates @ 50 cents each, $3 for wall art, such a deal!

I took a little bit of ribbon and hot glue to attach some metal rings that came off an old belt (which I kept because I knew I would need them one day).

Then Mr. SCC stood on a chair and juggled plates around, posing them on the wall until I found the perfect places for them. He even hung them up for me, cause he’s sweet like that!

Sounds like a good idea, but what if the hot glue popped off? How about using silicone instead. I think it might have a better grip. Also, like the hot glue, if you change your mind, a razor blade will take it off.
