Kylee here with an update on our primary bedroom/attic suite! If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you know this room has been a work in progress since we moved in last summer (see my saved bedroom highlight to catch up!).

We finally got our beautiful hardwood flooring installed and found the coziest bedding, so I wanted to give you a sneak peek at how our bedroom is coming together!

Here was the room when first moved in:

It was a blank slate with white walls and old gray carpet. We immediately knew we wanted to make the room feel cozier with a pretty paint color. I’m also not a fan of wall to wall carpeting, even in the bedroom (my allergies say no) so we planned to install solid wood flooring that would also coordinate with the original flooring in the rest of our home.

We started painting right away, but there were lots of delays on the floors. We finally got the hardwood in a few weeks ago and are thrilled! They completely changed the feel of the room!

We’ve still got a bit more I want to do before it feels “done.” I want to add a rug, some art, and bedside reading sconces are a few items I’m keeping my eye out for. But to be fair, is a room ever really done?! I expect it to continue to evolve, but after months of feeling like we were “squatting” until the floors came in, we are finally enjoying a cozy place of our own!

I will share more details and angles of our bedroom as well as more of the before and afters in the coming weeks, but today I wanted to give you a sneak peek of the flooring and new bedding. Hopefully you like progress posts!

We had been debating what bedding we wanted for months and purchased and returned several options. We’ve always had patterned colorful sheets and bedding, but nothing we found seemed just right. We finally decided that all white would be a classic choice. While white bedding is totally new for us, we loved the idea of creating a space that made us feel like we were in a chic luxury hotel! While makes the bed feel so fresh, clean and relaxing!
