Ready for a simple fall decorating idea? Use a plaid throw blanket as decor! You might remember the blue, green and brown plaid wool throw blanket I used in my home last fall. I’ll show you a few places I’ve used this blanket in today’s post.

But first, good news, as I’m writing this my beautiful plaid throw is available again (along with many other colors in comes in here!). So many of the colors sold out last fall (including the one I have) so if you regretted not getting one then, here’s your chance!

You’ll want to order quickly though in case they sell out (and it may take a couple of weeks to get one delivered).

I think it’s a perfect cozy touch for fall (but spoiler alert: I actually kept mine about all year!).

One of the many things I love about this plaid throw is it comes in a “lap blanket” size. It makes it so easy to throw over a bench, the back of a chair, fold on a shelf, or even lay across the end of a bed. Some blankets can be so big and bulky, but this one is easy to fold up to store, or use just about anywhere.

The smaller size is handy when you just want to add a touch of color, pattern, and texture.

I used a couple of them on our Our DIY No Sew Bench Cushion (seen above)!

I love these so much I just left them out on this bench all year. When summer rolled around I left the plaid but tossed a lighter more summery throw over the center of the bench (seen above).

That’s another thing I love about it, it feels almost like a picnic blanket would for summer so you can use it year round.

But I love it most as a cozy plaid throw blanket for fall.

Something else I really like about this plaid wool blanket? It’s washable!
