Project Procrastinators Party:
The BEFORE Photos

BEFORE

Tell me I am not the only one who procrastinated on making a decision on WHICH project to do for our Procrastinator Party? I had so much trouble deciding.

If I decide to paint something, I want to make sure I am picking the right color. Just because painting something black (let’s say) might be all the rage, it doesn’t mean I will choose black (even though I love it)! I’m a rebel.

I have to consider all the options first. I walk from room to room imagining what I want to see when I come to that piece. And because I am just moving in, there are a lot of new things to consider and projects still to do. Oh, THE OPTIONS!!!

I was on sensory overload trying to design my entire house in time for this party. No wonder I was procrastinating!

Finally, I have decided to makeover my dining room chairs.

I’d love to start on the walls or the cupboards, but until I officially sign my papers in two weeks to buy this house, I am not changing anything other than furniture — yet.

Being that I am still trying to get organized in my new place, I may not even finish the chairs in two weeks, but I’m taking baby steps. First step, I am removing those woven seats. What color did I choose? You’ll have to wait and see!

Stay tuned…in two weeks I’ll reveal how far I get.

Project Procrastinators Party:
The BEFORE Photos
My first baby step. Oh, I am so proud.

Now, it is your turn.
What are YOU going to work on?

Share your project (big or small, it doesn’t matter!) in the comments or via a Mr. Linky link to your BEFORE photo, LET’S GET BUSY, PEOPLE! Don’t leave me hanging out here alone.

Let’s use the comments on this post for some chit-chat along the way, shall we?

Pop in now and then to tell us how you are doing! Come back to this post to chat about the projects or ask questions (or to cry), so we can all know where to find each other! If you aren’t working on something, for goodness sake at least bring over some cookies to keep us energized.

This is procrastinator party central for two weeks so get your grubbies on and let’s get to it!

The after photos can be shared via Mr. Linky on Thursday May 14th.

After a year of going back and forth on whether or not to paint my wall of french doors- i’ve finally decided to do it! There are 9 panels altogether- 3 sets of working french doors and 3 fixed panels. That’s 90 squares to tape off!!!!! I got a little head start and taped off 3 of the panels yesterday. I’ll probably do a couple more tomorrow. By the time the paint deadline is up I might be ready to paint! ha! ;)

Wow, how did I miss this?
I always forget the before photos though, but I might have a shot with my stools. I have hated my dining aged brass chandelier for 22 years, so I finally painted it. LOVE! And finally did a bold mural on the dining room wall. Redid dining chairs and made the table. Love love! Now the bar stools. I have one left that I haven’t started on so I might get a before photo tomorrow. How fun!

My procrastination project is finishing my sink skirt for our bathroom. I blogged about how I mucked it up and needed to fix it….and then never did it. My sewing machine has been staring at me since, taunting me to do something with the skirt. It needs to be hemmed and fixed on the side. I’m not sure why I don’t want to do this one little project but now I’m committed to it!

I have been gone from home for two weeks, just got back last night. I had a friend/decorator do some painting for me and make a couple of window treatments during my absence. It all looks great! The procrastinate part is/has been getting started with ANY of it. Now that the painting is done and the “stuff” is piled everywhere, I have little choice but to dig in. Sort out, eliminate, clean and put it back where it belongs in with freshly painted walls. Thank you so much for the gentle nudge, hopefully in two weeks it will look very different around here. Another help is that I am having company in Sept. for two weeks and THE closet from that place HAS to be done before they come, can’t get in it. :) Good luck to all of us who always can find an excuse.

I have a china hutche that I bought last summer for our front porch. My intention was to paint it . . . but that hasn’t happened just yet! It is out on the porch – just in its original state.

I’ll join this party and paint the porch hutch – however, I won’t be able to do it for at least a couple of weeks. We are just finishing up some remodeling and I have out of town guests coming in for my hubby’s 50th birthday party that I’m planning. SO, it will be a while but I will get it done.

SO… I am giving one of my best friends a bridal shower on June 7th. Let’s just say that I’ve picked a wallpaper for my kitchen, it’s stunning, love it love it love it… however I just can’t stomach the $80 + they want for a single roll and wouldn’t you know that it only comes in double rolls. So, I’m back to the drawing board trying to find something I like that’s cheaper. And, I currently have 2 swabs of paint in the corners of my bedroom, because I can’t seem to make the decision of paint colors. My procrastination further goes that I guess I need to take some pictures of my projects and get them on my blog. But, that would be a contradiction in terms.
Thanks for the challenge. Please don’t be too cruel if I fail. lol.

OK, here’s my problem…..I’m painting a coffee table and the top was badly scratched and gouged. I filled all of the damage with wood putty, then sanded it down and things were looking good….until I used a damp cloth to wipe away the dust. The damp cloth melted away the putty that was in the shallower scratches (too numerous to ignore). This is my first time painting furniture so I’m at a loss as to how to remove all of the dust without a damp cloth. If I wipe it down really well with a static dusting cloth, will that take off enough of the dust to paint over???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hope your chairs are going great! Once again, I seemed to have picked a project that involved my husband’s efforts more than my own. Oh dear. He’s decided that ordinary shelves in our open-storage pantry area won’t do. No, no: Custom shelves it is! He’s broken two drill bits already. And me, I’ve thrown away a grocery bag full of expired dry goods.
