Coastal Cottage Winter Mood Board
Coastal Cottage Winter Mood Board

This week’s Monday Mood Board might look familiar to you! We pulled together some of the elements we have in our living room (and similar ones!) to create this coastal cottage winter mood board. To me, the most important design feature to work with is the mood. To create a mood you like, you can can swap around elements, incorporate what you have, and change accessories for the season. That’s what is fun about designing a mood for a room. The design elements don’t have to be stagnant and there are so many more options for what to use!

Three words I’d use to describe the ‘mood’ of this space: comfortable, coastal, and collected. Some of the pieces we use in this room will likely change or continue evolve (at least until we get the main pieces more settled!) but everything doesn’t have to stay here forever to make it feel like a comfortable home.

That’s a great thing about designing by mood, you don’t have to wait for a perfect or particular piece in order to love being in your home. You can be more flexible to use what you have, but you can also be open to incorporating things you unexpectedly find or fall in love with! It can take time to create a home, but setting a mood doesn’t have to wait. I hope these mood boards inspire you for your home!

Mood board source links are below. Remember you can always use any of our mood boards as inspiration for ways to pull various pieces together. You can get inspired to incorporate a mood and design a room you love with things you already have or can collect over time! Save this to your Pinterest boards!
