Right before Christmas I talked about the importance of having something to look forward to in January that can uplift your spirits. You can read the post here.
Now that the year 2021 is officially coming to a close, it’s time to get started on our goal for January!
A long dark winter can be hard for many of us, especially after the holidays. Having a home project you’re looking forward to, whether it’s big or small, or even creating experiences at home that you’ll enjoy can make a difference!
I thought it would be fun to do this as a challenge for our whole community, so I’ve come up with a plan. Every year we talk about making our home goals for the year, but this time I thought it would be fun to do focus on a goal for January and do it together!
A LOVELY JANUARY
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Pick one room you want to focus on in January. Set it as a January home goal.
You could have a goal to clean that room, organize it, decorate it, paint it or switch up the lighting or furniture or accessories. You can plan fun ways to be creative with projects or experiences! Or even spend time dreaming up ideas for that room!
Whatever you can do that will give you a fun way to focus on creativity in January will make the month (and your home!) more lovely.
What room will you focus on? What creative ideas do you have for that space?
As I mentioned, I will be working on our bedroom! My goal is to just be creative, have fun making progress and enjoy my room! It doesn’t have to be anything complicated to uplift your spirits!
Once you’ve decided which space you’ll be working on, share about your project and then give us updates on what you’re doing in January! You can share your ideas and projects in our Facebook community, or post on your own social media with the hashtag #alovelyjanuary. Feel free to tag me @theinspiredroom too and I’ll re-share some!
Let your friends know what you’re doing, and share this idea with your neighbors. Let’s just make it a fun thing we do together and I think it will uplift everyone’s spirits. It’s nice to know you’re not alone.
Instead of a dark and dreary January, let’s make it a lovely one!
