Be honest. How do you really feel? Are you looking forward to fall? Or is there a bit (or a lot) of anxiety or even fear mixed in? It’s OK if you feel all of the things right now. This year is certainly different than any other fall. While many people tend to dread this time of year for the usual reasons, snow, cold or SAD (seasonal affective disorder), we have far more to deal with or process on top of those things than we’ve ever had before.
My theme for my year overall and on the blog this year is “A Year of Dwelling Well”. When I announced that this would be A Year of Dwelling Well, I had no idea what this year would bring our way. But it is still exactly how I want to live!
So how can we dwell well this fall?
We can design a home that will be more nurturing to us on every level…mind, body and soul.
We can put together our home in a way that inspires us to feel happier in our surroundings.
We can embrace the simple pleasures around us and experience gratitude for them.
We can find little ways to feel more connected to our home and to the people we care about.
We can create a cozy place to retreat in the harshness of the world.
We can practice daily routines and seasonal rhythms that can bring a sense of peace and calm in the frenzy around us.
We can protect the environment we live in so it is not just a lovely place to look at but a healthy and inviting place for the people inside.
I’m so glad you are joining us for Fall Nesting this year, friend. We’ll talk about all of these things during our series, I hope it will encourage and inspire you!
PS. Prayers for everyone near or impacted by all of the fires, including our friends and family in Oregon!
