It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas Around Here!

I wanted to make our home feel festive a bit early this year. It just seemed like a good way to boost our spirits and make the upcoming season feel extra special. We mostly just use what we have every year and this year is no exception. A few garlands and wreaths, a couple of green trees, our paper snowflakes and little holiday houses. It doesn’t take much to bring extra joy!

There’s no right or wrong way to decorate your home for the holidays. Some people want to do a lot of decorating and some feel like doing very little. Do what speaks to you this year! Bring out the traditional decor if it brings back happy memories. Take out all of the bins if you want, or leave them in storage this time and try something new. It’s your home. It’s your family. You know what’s best.

This year is a strange one (I think we can all agree on that) so if creating an extra magical Christmas home makes it feel more joyful and uplifts your spirits, I hope you have fun with it! If it all feels like too much to tackle right now, that’s OK, too. Give yourself grace. I think we all need a lot more of that.

I’ve been enjoying seeing many of your homes in The Inspired Room Community, are you in? Share some photos of your home! We’d all love to see what you’re up to.

I mentioned last week that we had put up garland in our kitchen that had already fallen down, a few of our large paper snowflakes had come crashing down as well and Jack had grabbed some felt ornaments off the tree (as he always does). So, we got off to a good start I’d say! :) Two steps forward, three steps back seems to be how we roll in everything, but at least we are making progress and having fun with it.

I’m planning to do a Christmas tour here this year so I’ll share more in an upcoming post, but here’s a little sneak peek!

Our White Slipcovered Sofa (on sale right now!)

Jack and Lily are SO comfy here with our fireplace on, the lights on the trees, Christmas music playing, the family hanging out at home together. They love it. So do we. This is where we spend most of our time, it just feels so cozy you can’t help but want to be here.

I got a new winter diffuser that I think is so adorable, he’s called Snowy the Owl. He’d make a darling Christmas gift for kids, but I got him for myself. :-) He plays a variety of soothing white noise sounds and comes with fun stickers to personalize his look! He also comes with two oils, one that smells like an orange creamsicle and one that’s great for sleep! You can add him to the Welcome Home Starter Kit or add him separately to your order HERE.

There’s also an adorable holiday starter bundle, the details are here.

Similar Paper Snowflakes

This is the only paper snowflake left hanging LOL. We tried command strips for garland and the snowflakes, but most of them fell down already. :) Oh well. Maybe we’ll get them back up with thumb tacks instead. Click here for similar paper snowflakes, they come in a set of three or individuals.

Some of you were asking me where our white painted bookcase was located in our house, it’s right inside the living room, next to the dining room! It’s so fun to have a bookcase in here again, both for books and decor. It was a handy place for our boxwood garland and white houses, too!

I’ll share more of our Christmas decor here on the blog and in my Instagram stories over the next few weeks! :)
