Sweet Escape: Friday Rituals

  1. Mmm.. surrounded by tulips, it looks like a nice place to sit and read.

  2. Oh Melissa!!! Beautiful!! Did you take this shot? Love the flowers.

  3. Alison is right . The perfect place . Love the tulips

  4. Hi Melissa, what a beautiful spot to curl up with a Westie :) Jenn and jacqui

    A perfect place for dreaming…

  6. I know, what more really needs to be said about something so beautiful? My sweetheart actually bought tulip bulbs this fall and while I was gone for the day, planted them in my garden for a surprise. He was with me when I spied some bulbs on sale later and wanted to buy some so he confessed his sweet little secret because he was afraid I would dig up the ones he planted while trying to plant my own:>) I can’t wait for spring!

  7. Looks like a cozy place to read. And more inspiration for Valentine’s Day! Hope you can enjoy your sweet escape today!

  8. A beautiful spot for some tea and some time…

  9. I noticed the grocery store was selling tulips last time I was there – I’m hoping I can get some on sale cause I’m ready for spring. Tulips and daffodils always say spring to me. Love the tulip pillow – beautiful & cozy corner!

  10. Oh, I wish I were sitting there. Beauty and peace. What more could anyone want?????

  11. Oh Melissa! I can just feel myself sinking into that lovely chair and letting out a little sigh. A little overcast outside casting shadows inside and a little fire in the grate. And then I look over at those beautiful tulips and smile. Lovely shot!

  12. I am with Manuela all the way. Tulips and daffodils are my favorite flowers; I’ rather have them than roses any day.

  13. Nothing better…

  14. Gorgeous photo!
Makes me want to sit down and read a book!

Just the escape I needed this morning! I left my house at 5:30 a.m. to go get my swimming workout in, only to have to turn about due to a log truck spilling its load. No workout makes for a grumpy Esther. The snow and slop and really a drag right now! So nice to see those tulips! Have a great weekend, my friend. Love, Esther

  16. Tulips are synonym to spring…. thank you for reminding me that spring is just around the corner!

  17. Sorry, I forgot to sign:

    Have a lovely day!

  18. What a pretty corner. Just makes me want to come and sit there and enjoy those tulips.

  19. Beautiful pic, Melissa! I hope that is your house…that’s what I think it is. Very peaceful pic.

  23. Hi Melissa,
two of my favorite things back to back! Valentines Day AND Spring. Simply crazy about spring flowers and when it arrives our farmers market makes me go crazy, tulips, tuberose, peonies, hydrangeas, the list goes on. So uplifting to see glimpses of spring, thank you again!

  24. Mmmmmmm! Tulips! I am loving this shot. I could linger in this photo and just soak up all the coziness. Yummy.

  25. That picture brings back fond memories of a sweet little tea house I used to visit a few years ago. It was my ‘Wednesday’ ritual to stop there before heading off to school. Man do I miss that place.
Thanks for the little reminder. Happy weekend to you!

By the way, I really like the quote you have at top of your blog.

You already have tulips? Good grief, I am still finding pine needles and putting away those last little reminders of Christmas.

  29. Melissa,

See, that is what I love about you. You can find a simple picture that says more than words ever could. Lovely, just lovely.

  30. What a lovely spot….and the flowers and the ones on the pillow are just lovely, too!

Hi Melissa, That looks like a lovely place to sit with a cup of tea and a good book…lovely.
    p.s. I am having a giveaway… stop by!

  40. Melissa, I love this post and this ritual–aren’t fresh flowers the best? Every summer, when the local market opens, I buy a fresh bouquet (sometimes two!) once a week and love how it just brightens everything, including my day. Happy weekend to you!

  41. AH Melissa, your cozy spot is absolutely dreamy!!!! I could certainly imagine curling up with a great book and a Starbucks and getting lost for a couple hours.

    I love it!

I also love your new look…although I truly loved the other look too…

PS – I’d love to link you on my blog…would that be ok with you? ;)
