Fun blogging news, my blogging pal Nester has released her first e-book! I enjoyed getting a sneak peek at it and as always, Nester is a kindred spirit in her desire to find beauty in imperfection! Get your own copy today–and tell her I sent you over to get it! And while you are at it, head over to Remodeling Guy‘s blog to check out his first e-book, which I also read and enjoyed. I think it must be release your first e-book day.

Love the photos! They’re wonderful inspiration :)
I love the towel idea. I have thought about buying the letters at Michaels but I am not sure they would pick them up off the floor and walk them back to the bathroom..too much to ask :) but it makes a pretty picture and dream for a mother!!

Ha, yeah, we eventually had to make a rule that you couldn’t take your towel out of the bathroom. You had to bring a bathrobe or your clothes into the bathroom to wear when you walk out!
nice simple inspiration here, melissa!

Hmmm, I think that tiny bathroom is precious, but I think I have a problem with that glass window wall there. Ha! It makes me wonder what’s on this side of the wall…a laundry room perhaps?
Just reporting in to say that I am plugging away at painting so that I can join you for your next procrastinators’ party. Can’t spend more than a half hour at a time on it daily because I do so loathe painting, but even at that rate, it will eventually be accomplished, right?

I love those photos, and the blue in that first one is awesome. I’m feeling a bit inspiration for an old nightstand waiting for a new coat of paint!

Melissa! OMG… great minds. I was driving into work this morning and thinking about the mess in my kids’ bathroom and how I was going to solve it by getting white towels embroidered with their names and hanging coat hooks for them to hang them, instead of towel racks. That way, no more asking “who threw these towels on the floor?” and getting a blank look because the perpetrators initials will be RIGHT there.
Now if only you had a post about how to get them to actually hang the towels on the racks! That would be the true miracle! LOL

oh, yes, the old towel night mare. What, how, when will the wet towels stop? :)
A little TLC goes a LONG way, but I don’ know if enough TLC is going to make my procrastination project work in another week. Maybe I’ll tackle something more manageable. :)

I’m enthralled with garden life and awfully busy too. I’m finding a new degree of creativity in an amongst the hard work. I’m playing with old things – regenerating them somewhere in the garden and all this to say i LOVE the garden pic. Gives me some…uh…ideas!
Thanks dear friend for sharing the gift God’s given you here in such a soft form. I love u.

Just back with fresh white towels and brand new sheets.
Nothing like fresh clean whites to make me happy – that and a bucket of paint! White or any color. Love all those fab images.

Hi Melissa,
Your beautiful blue cabinet looks great. I would love to ask you about paints. I had my cabinets in the kitchen done with oil based paint. I told the painters I wanted to be able to distress, or antique them, and no problem, I have my glaze, and love what I did, but it is rough to the touch. Am I able to put, say a varnish or something over them to smooth them out or will I end up with chipped doors.
I am on hold until I can figure this one out.
Yours look great !!!Connie
Connies inspiring blog post..Tropical Decorating
Hi Connie…thanks for the comment. I WISH that was my cabinet, but mine is still oak…I’m eying that blue paint and thinking it might look great on my own cabinet though! I’m using that photo as inspiration.
I am pretty sure you can put the varnish over the glazing, as varnish is a finishing step to protect it.
Anyone else have suggestions for her?
Love the sentiment in your post. I do try to see the beauty around me an “add” into it! I especially like the “garden” inspiration as I am all things garden right now!
I love your statement that “love contentment and TLC makes all things beautiful”. So true, so true.

I love the idea of having everyone a labeled towel. Wow, do you know how great that would be?!?! Nobody in this house will use towels after each other, so I am washing a load every other day. Monogramed towels is the answer! Thanks for that idea! Gotta go thread my embroidery machine so that I can get this done!
Andi
I just tried to go to your link for “reluctant entertainer,” but it comes up with some “go daddy” site with a bunch of links that don’t look right to me…? :) (Also, your comments section says “closed” on that post)
All those hooks in the bathroom are to die for! And that blue cabinet is so shabby chic!
Beautiful ~ and as always inspiring!
Love the monogrammed towel idea- with 6 of us, I often through towels in the hamper because I have no idea whose it is or when it was used last. :)
ginas inspiring blog post..150+ ideas for family summer fun*
Those are gorgeous pictures. I’m in love with the blue paint color used on the cabinet. Do you know what it is?
The monogramed towels are a great idea. I found a couple of less expensive ways. One was a story about the beach house of a clothing designer. She just did numbers, as they were for guests and each guest knew their number. The other was from Miss Martha herself – she stiched ribbon across the dobby (new word for me – it’s that tightly woven line acoss the towel). Different colors or patterns for each person. Again, maybe less expensive than monograming.
