I couldn’t resist this face.
The first time I saw her, just a week ago, I knew her name was Lily. It suited her.
I told my husband I had to have her.
I knew Jack would adore her, so we brought her home to live with us.
We already can’t imagine life without her, she belongs here.
Her face is the sweetest ever.
She’s an Australian Labradoodle. Jack is a Goldendoodle.
She was well-loved and cared for and had lots of siblings and cousins. Before we had even met Lily, her owner prayed that her new family would be a blessing to her and that she would be a blessing to them. I think that’s why we fell in love with her. She is a blessing already.
Her human brother fell in love with her, too, just like we did.
She plays hard and naps hard. As everyone should.
Jack was intrigued with Lily from the first moment he saw her.
But Lily adored Jack even more. And her sisters are head over heels for Lily!
She doesn’t care where she naps, as long as she’s with us.
Jack is 45 pounds and Lily will probably be around 25 pounds, but right now she is just a little pip squeak.
Jack and Lily already play well together, even though Lily is clearly the Alpha dog around here and calls all the shots. Fortunately, she has a sweet personality and isn’t bossy about it. She’s just confident about what she wants and doesn’t mind letting Jack know she’s in charge now.
Ha. Jack’s a good sport. I think he finds her amusing.
See what I mean?
She wants to do everything Jack does. And she loves all of his spots in the house.
I see some mischief in their future. They are a funny pair.
But she is seriously a precious girl. I know you’ll love her adventures and sweet photos as much as you all love Jack’s. And I love sharing them! They sure bring happiness and joy to the world. Jack’s talking about meeting Lily today, go check out his post!
You can follow these two crazy and lovable doodles at The Inspired Dog Blog or on Jack’s Facebook page.
She is precious! Best of luck with her.
Where did you get Lily?
Sooo sweet! and what great photos….I can just imagine the wonderful times you are going to be able to have with her in your life.
Oh, my she is so cute. Love all these cute shots and look at those big fluffy paws. I want to squeeze her.
Lily is beautiful! Does she bark with an accent? -grin- Last autumn, I saved a 4 week old barn kitten from a barn owl, brought it to the house and named it Lily. It was a few weeks before I found out the name was really Levi Lily.
I just simply adore Lily!!! Just a beautiful dog!! Jack and Lily are a great pair!! I could never not have 2 dogs, the best of friends!!!! We have 2 golden retrievers Maddie and Ella and wouldn’t have it any other way!!!
Oh my goodness, she is precious!! The cutest!
Pure sweetness! Lily, and Jack. Your children, your photography…you have such an “eye” for touching shots. This is really such a gem of escapism, for many of us, I think. There is a loving family out there that adores dogs, and each other, and we have moments on your blog where we are “invited in” to a safe and safe and sweet life… We are blessed you are sharing… What a true delight this is!
Oh my gosh, she is ADORABLE!!! We have serious puppy fever here right now. My Baxter (golden retriever from field lines) is six and I’m convinced that he needs a little friend. :)
Thank you for sharing her with us all! I pray she delights your family in new ways and continues to be full of adventure – we all need that!
Congratulations on the new addition. Lily is beautiful! I just saw a picture with the caption: Puppy breath smells like happiness. So true. Jack is going to be the best big brother! You have a lovely family – human and Doodle.
Lily is so precious she makes your insides ache. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. I’m happy for Jack that he has someone to mentor and in turn will be unconditionally adored by one of his own kind. We all deserve that!
Best wishes and congratulations on the newest family member! She does have a sweet face and is lucky to have found such a wonderful family!
Melissa, Lily is beautiful. You are so right. She belongs.
That pic with Lily on the pink chair?? SLAYS me!
Congrats on your newest family member!
unbearably cute! their paws against their face makes me melt every single time…
OMGosh that is the cutest dog ever – that face kissable squeezable muah! I love love love dogs and got a Maltipoo for my Maltese (he didn’t think it was such a good idea tho and didn’t really want anything to do with her). They were so cute – their names? Romeo & Juliet. I lost Romeo (sniff) a couple years ago and Miss Juliet loves being queen of all things ! There is nothing like the heartsmile you feel when looking into those little faces – love love love they just keep on loving – please please keep sharing It makes my day!!!!!!!!!!!
She’s precious! I’ve been looking at labradoodles too. Would you share who the breeder is?
Not sure it gets any cuter than this. :)
Seriously, she is an absolute doll. Thanks for introducing me to a new breed!
A Labradoodle was on my future dog wish list. Now an Australian labradoodle is because of the smaller size. She is so cute!
I am totally a cat person BUT Jack & Lily make me think differently. I’ve even googled breeders here in WA, ha! If I ever decided on a dog it would definitely be a labradoodle of some sort :)
She is stunning , her and Jack will have so much fun! My Goldendoodle Darcy is 2 years old and mad as a hatter !
she is so darling and so perfect, and I would love to know who you bought her from. I’m like minded – i.e., I love her prayer that she’d be a blessing to her owners and vice versa — and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a sweetie pie like her — can you share that info with me? Thanks so much, Laurie (and Bobby the husband and Rocky the schnauzer and Polly the cocker)
Yes, I’ll email you!
Would you mind sharing the name of the breeder as well? I have goldens but my sister in law is considering a doodle because of the hair. It is hard to find a good breeder and I love her size.
Thank you
Hi Melissa,
do think you could email the name of the breeder? I love your photos and dog posts all over social media. Thanks for sharing the joy!
Thank you!! Lily is from Seattle Labradoodles. Bella & Leo are from Mountain Park Labradoodles and Jack is from Big Oak Ranch. Let them know we sent you if you end up going with one of them! :)
Oh my cuteness! She is stinkin cute! I have what we believe to be a French poodle, but she looks very similar to a smaller version of a labradoodle of sorts! Reminds me of my Izzy ;) they look like quite the pair!
Congratulations on your new family member!
xoxo- Kaara
Congratulations on the new arrival in your family…..she is just adorable, and I can see Jack & Lily are going to be the best of friends. Can’t wait to follow their adventures together with your family Melissa. Your photography is amazing!!! xxx
Adorable! I have a mini/medium labradoodle. She is full grown and is 19 pounds. Her name is Lucy and she is a parti black and white. They are the sweetest dogs and they have amazing eyelashes! I love that they are hypoallergenic and no shedding!
Oh I bet she’s darling. I thought I wanted a b&w one but then I saw Lily and decided I could live with her haha! :)
How adorable! They look like they’re bffs already. What a wonderful addition to your family. :)
oh my gosh, she is adorable. we are looking for the exact same breed and live in seattle. can you point me in the direction of where you got her?? thanks so much!
-stacy
Yes, I’ll email you! :-)
I was going to ask the same thing! She is so darling. Can you share where you got her with me? We are also in Seattle. Thanks!
p.s. so love your blog and have followed for years!
OMG I’m overdosing on cuteness!
So cute. We got our first dog this year. He’s a standard poodle. How much grooming do your doodles need?
So adorable. We have been thinking of getting a puppy and at first were looking at the golden doodles but I love the size of your lily. Would you mind sharing the breeder. We use to live in the Pacific Northwest and are heading there in a few weeks.
Sure, I can email you the info!
We have a 14 week old Australian Labradoodle puppy… he is up to lots of mischief most of the time. I am sure Lily will be lots of fun!!
I can see why it was love at first sight – she’s a cutie! Jack isn’t going to know what hit him, is he?
Glad to hear Jack loves her, too, and that he’s being a good sport about the whole thing.
Lily is adorable! No one can deny that, but I’ve been following your blog for a while now and LOVE it! However, I was disappointed to see that you chose not to rescue… there are millions of dogs that are homeless and tons of them are hypoallergenic – poodles, oodles, puppy -oodles, whatever your heart desires :) Not trying to poo-poo all the fun, but I’ve spent my life in animal rescue and it just disappoints me to see when others who I admire choose a breeder when there are plenty of dogs out there who need homes and are wonderful family dogs. I’d be happy to “hook anyone up” with the right dog in need! Hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way, just trying to speak up for the dogs in need, I hope you can understand that :)
After losing our beloved 18 year old dog recently, we weighed all the options and considered all possibilities for new pets, and made the choice that was right for our family. No need to be disappointed in us, we chose to give Lily a home and a family and we are providing a loving place for her. We are responsible pet owners. But it’s great to encourage people to find the right pet for them and in the process, consider a rescue that is a good fit for them. Thanks for caring for rescue dogs!
I’m sure you’re a responsible pet owner, I wasn’t suggesting you weren’t. It’s wonderful to care for all dogs, and I can definitely tell you love your dogs. Can I ask why you chose a breeder? Not to judge, but I’ve never understood the choice, so I would truly appreciate understanding why a person chooses not to rescue. It’s okay if you can’t share why, I have just always wondered.
Oh dear Lord she is the cutest thing I have seen in ages. I have promised the kids after we have extended the house we will get a dog and now I think I know what sort we will get!! Keeps those puppy pics coming :)
Nat
Congratulations on the new addition! 2 weeks ago we adopted an 8 week old Australian Shepherd/Beagle mix. She’s built like the Beagle but has the Aussie face and smarts.
I’m big on rescuing too but I applaud you for knowing the backstory on your new furry child. With our new furry child, her backstory will have me considering breeders when we do this again. Her mother’s owner took Libby (who was named Lilly when she arrived) and her 2 sisters away and surrendered them at 4 weeks. As a result they’ve missed out on a lot of developmental stuff that they would have learned from their mom. She’s still a good girl just really nippy right now.
She’s adorable!
What a cute pair of pups!
We were recently graced with a new pup… he as a drop off dog. Sad…but it happens alot around these parts. Not sure why…but in 17 years of living here, we’ve never ever had to buy a dog. :/
Anyway…he’s a shephard mix…sweet pup and our boxer Trouble…loves him. She hasn’t given up her alpha dog station for him…yet.
enjoy your pup! Pat
Oh my goodness! That is indeed a sweet little face! She is so adorable. I love Jack’s reaction to her. It reminds me of my Russ’s reaction to Emily. They were an unlikely pair – she’s a Shih Tzu, he was a Terrier and quite a bit older at the time. She worshipped him and I think he found her kind of amusing. He taught her all sorts of things about how to be a dog over the next six years. Em looks like a little princess but she’s a tomboy thanks to Russ. Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful photos and for sparking a trip down memory lane. :)
I love all the pictures! Lily looks like she is right at home!
Hi Melissa,
I am hoping u can help me…..or rather my family….
You see my daughter has wanted a dog for as long as I can remember. (She is 13!) and well u see, I have never had a pet growing up, not even a fish! I am 46 hrs young. So I have promised that this is the year and I am desperately afraid of making the wrong decision. She has done her research, a lot of research. My only request is that it not be a big dog, and not a shedder and one not prone to illnesses. I would hate for us to make this jump only to lose him/her to soon.
She has her heart finally set on a mini Golden doodle. Out neighbor has the most adorable Labra doodle named Chester.
Here is my question: what is your opinion re: breeder or not? We have decided ( because we have been told) the best age to get a dog is 1.5 – 2 yrs old, what do u think? And u have such a beautiful home, how do u maintain that with the type of dogs you have and finally can u give a slightly apprehensive but very open Mom some advice? Thank u. I know u r busy , so I will check back here often to look for a response.
Sincerely,
Megan
Lily is adorable! She reminds me of my grand-puppy Beau. What fun you will have with the two dogs. Blessings to you, Patti@OldThingsNew
Oh so pretty and she looks so cuddly, too much fun!
What a precious baby!! I’m in love and can’t wait to read more posts about sweet Lily!
awwwwww – she is very adorable! So fluffy and snuggly-looking! I have been thinking of getting a little brother or sister for my yellow lab, Auron. He gets lonely sometimes and the kitties are not very good playmates.
Ahhh!! Love her! We had a boy first and then got a little girl half the boy’s size and she is in charge too. Must be a girl thing!
Congratulations on the new addition! She is so precious. I have already loved reading Jack’s blog about her and about his thoughts ;-) and seeing the pictures that you post on Instagram. Thanks for sharing with us!
So incredibly adorable. Just the type of dog we are looking for as we are making the move from an apartment to a house! Could you share the breeder with us?
Love your blog!
Absolutely gorgeous. LOVE your photos.
Oh my! Lily is super cute! Its nice to see they get along. I would love to get another dog but I think our cat wouldn’t be able to handle it. He got pretty mangy for awhile after we brought home our puppy 4 years ago, stared at her from afar for months. Unfortunately they still don’t get along and stay out of each others way.
Melissa, Can you share with me the info on your breeder? We are researching dog breeds right now, and this type is at the top of my list. Would love to know who you used and how you found them. Thank you!
Well, she is just about the cutest dog I’ve ever seen!! No wonder you couldn’t resist that face! Love the picture of her napping practically upside-down. So cute! Also noticed you have the Gianna rug from PB…just bought one for myself this week and love it! Great minds think alike. :) hehe
Lilly is adorable! Some friends of mine have a chocolate Austrian Labradoodle and is the cutest thing ever! Do you mind e-mailing me with where you got her as well? My daughter lost her golden retriever this past spring and I am sure would fall in love with your Lilly! Congratulations!!
I have Lily’s picture up on my computer at work ALL THE TIME. Just gazing into her precious eyes is a real stress-reliever for me. Thanks for sharing all the photographs of your adorable puppy!
Lily is adorable. Would you please share her breeder information? Thank you!
Very cute! I would also recommend that other interested readers look into some of the many ‘doodle rescue groups– Yes! There are purebred ‘doodles for adoption and many are young! :)
Cute dog. Least she should be hypoallergenic. Another plus.
How adorable!
