  1. Everything is coming together so beautifully! I am so happy for you, I bet you are breathing a great big sigh. I know thinking about myself, it would be killing me to not be able to get my pretty new house decorated!

    Love it!

Just wanted to tell you… you inspired me so much with the first photo on here (the round mirror, white plates) that last night when I went home I redesigned the display on my buffet table — using a few beautiful pure white pieces and a black iron plate holder I have collected but not known what to do with. I couldn’t stop admiring it all night — finally the look I was going for! I wanted to move my round mirror there like you have it, but I have a beautiful print above the table already and love that look too. Already had the silver candlesticks there too and a quaint early american lamp (one of those with the metal shade, tall brass finial that comes down through the shade to form the candle holder type base). So the addition of one beautiful white plate I have (scallopped with
lots of cut-out design like lace) atop a black iron plate holder and a little white
pedestal piece someone gave me were just perfect! I needed one more piece and remembered a set of white candleholders I usually only use at Christmas — looks like a flat white bow with a sweet angel face in the center of the bow. So I pulled out one, added a candle and ouila! Warm ambience like your photo! My walls are a colonial blue, white trim everywhere, so the white is spectacular. Funny too because I was just rearranging a shelf with the only other white pieces I have this past weekend (a few decorative creamers), inspired by your photos here and some I’ve seen in magazines lately. Anyway, thanks for the lovely inspiration! And so fun to be able to put it together with pieces I’ve already had and not put to good use before! :)

    Hi Melissa,
I didn’t want you to think I dropped off the face of the earth. I still read your blog, but have been swamped. I haven’t been able to comment in quite some time, but want to wish you and your family a wonderful “inspiring” life in your new home with your new community of friends. You home looks lovely and I love looking at all your decorating ideas!
    Hugs and God Bless,
    Cathie
