Behold, our kitchen.
The transformation has begun.
I thought you would enjoy seeing what I’m seeing!
It might not be very pretty to look at, but having a more “blank slate” sure helps me to better visualize.
If you want a refresher of what the kitchen looked like when we first moved in, check out this post (keep in mind that the actual remodeling plans have evolved since that post).
It was the end of the day so I’m sorry it’s so dark, but hope you enjoyed this little peek at our demolition progress so far.
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
I’ll be back with prettier inspiration and remodeling updates soon :)
Good luck!!!! When everything you’re tearing out is gone, you’ve turned a big corner.
Wow, how exciting to reveal the blank canvas. And all the dust and debris has been cleaned up! (No scary surprises?) Let the fun begin!
Beautiful view from the end wall window…I hope that is where you sink is going! I just enlarged my one tiny window…would LOVE to have a larger one with that view!
Ah, a blank slate! Now you can see your completed vision more clearly! Love the gorgeous view from that window! You’re on your way! Hang in there and looking forward to seeing the transformation. ?
My kitchen reno starts next week. I’m so excited yet scared. Not sure how we’ll live without a kitchen. Can’t wait to see what you do.
We cooked in a toaster oven and microwave. We set up our Vitamix for our morning smoothies and of course there’s always a crock pot. Our frig was in the foyer and we are blessed in that we had a utility sink to use right off of the kitchen in the laundry room so no dish washing in the tub. :-) Best wishes!
Melissa, I am so happy for you. And, I’m excited, too.♥
What fun, Melissa! It’s exciting and daunting to do a kitchen renovation. Can’t wait to see it all!
I love seeing demo pictures! Is that smoke damage above the window? I hope you don’t find any surprises!
Soooooo exciting!! The point of no return!! :)
Thanks soooo much for showing us the progress (demo). I can’t wait to see how it all turns out. I love makeovers.
We are just in the talking and cost accounting phase of a kitchen re-do. Most of our cabinets will stay in place and be painted inside and out to lighten our dark kitchen. Any tips for creating a temporary kitchen while the project proceeds?
I find that so exciting Melissa! Can’t wait to see all the updates along the way.
I remember being exactly where you are just a year ago! It’s a great feeling–knowing your kitchen is on its way to being something wonderful, warm and inviting, somewhere you want to spend time cooking and making memories. I can’t wait to see what you do with it now. BTW, you have a FANTASTIC view from your kitchen window. I’m envious!!!
Yippee!!!!!! Cheers and best wishes for a smooth, happiness-filled renovation, Ardith
That view!!!!! I can’t wait to see how you transform your kitchen.
So exciting!
Very cool. Can’t wait to see more pictures!
Very exciting time, but scary also. It ix going to be so beautiful when it is done, and your views are so gorgeous, I’m afraid I would never get anything done cuz I would be looking out those windows daydreaming.
I can’t wait to see it completed. I pray it all goes smoothly for you.
So much fun! Maybe not for you always but I just love seeing before, middle and after! I know it’s going to all be worth the mess it will turn out absolutely beautiful!
That last pic is the best, Melissa, looking from one end all the way across to that wonderful view out the big window. True, it’s a small kitchen; it’s a narrow kitchen; it’s a galley kitchen but it’s got such potential to be a gorgeous galley kitchen. Got me pulling up your previous inspiration pics and googling more just for the pleasure (my own small kitchen is u-shaped and already received a lot of inspiration from your previous kitchen). So excited to see the next steps.
How exciting! Can’t wait to see the transformation!
Did you find a home for that stove/oven combo, it’s a classic! Can’t wait to see your progress, good luck!
I am looking forward to seeing your vision for the kitchen come to life. I know it will be beautiful, especially with the view.
Can’t wait to see it!
I can feel the excitement!!! It has good bones. I have to say I like the molding that’s around the windows and door too.
When we were house hunting, we had narrowed it down to two homes. It wasn’t the home we eventually bought, however the other house had a smaller kitchen than yours, galley style and I loved it. I would have been perfectly happy with it and it certainly didn’t have your awesome view! It’s all in being smart in the design layout. I am excited for you!
Thank you, Lisa! I’m falling more and more in love with it, it’s going to be perfect for us!
How exciting! Looking forward to see what it will become!
I love seeing before/after pictures and can’t wait to see your new kitchen!
Hi from NSW. AUSTRALIA.
Melissa I just love what you have achieved thus fsr. This is just a color question if I may. Your fridge in my light, it looks like sheen of Mothrer of pearl. But then again it could be your lighting. Is it a white fridge or a stainlesss steel one?
I moved into a house once with that style oven! I lived with for about a year. Each one of the burners started to die. That was my sign to remodel. The bugger weighed a ton! Good luck with the remodel!
Yeah! Happy your project is getting started!
What will you use for a kitchen during the reno?
My biggest want for a kitchen is large windows and you’ve got’em! I’m so excited to see what you do with that tiny space, Melissa!
Thank you, Diane. I’m very grateful to have them. XO
Be sure you keep that very attractive trac lighting.
Your view out the kitchen window is beautiful!
