Something about the arrival of FALL inspires me to get reacquainted with my kitchen! I hope you enjoy all these kitchens brimming with pizazz and personality! Even on a small budget you can add a little something unique to the heart of your home.

Where you could add personality for more splash than cash?

  • Unique Light fixtures
Try an antique in a contemporary kitchen or vice versa!
  • Surprising Accessories
Add something unexpected, like a garage sale oil painting!
  • Fun Paint Colors
Liven up your cabinets, walls or window trim with a surprising hue!
  • Cabinet hardware
Mix things up a bit and add your own personal twist to your cabinets!
  • Furnishings
Bring in grandma’s armoire, an old dresser or a fresh mix of chairs!

LOVE LOVE LOVE these kitchen photos! Great inspiration. I’m still finishing up after painting mine a slightly less bright green than in the third photo (called Grape Leaves). Love it, hope to visit here more often after I get back from the MMP Retreat this weekend. Congrats to Beck on winning the gift certificate. (WAH! I wanted to win!!!)

Those are beautiful kitchens. I may not have my “dream kitchen” but I do love it and feel blessed to have it. I cook 3 meals a day plus bake almost 7 days a week for 5 people. God is good.

Beautiful kitchens. Love the different styles. My favorite is the David Prince one. The green furniture piece is just awesome. I found you on Twitter. Glad I did.

I love the Dominique Vorillon kitchen, sort of soothing… whaaaaat is that countertop - butcher block? teak? I must know, I love that color against the white….

Great looking kitchens, all! Our son in law volunteered to help us paint at the condo. He’s new, less than a year married into the family…he’ll learn. Anyhoo….I grabbed some samples and we are going to work! One of the things I want to do is spiff up the kitchen, which is really an extension of the main living area. I’d love to add glass to some of the cabinet doors. Once again, you’ve provided fabulous inspiration, Melissa!

thanks for the inspiration, Melissa. I actually purchased primer and paint for my kitchen MONTHS ago, but have obviously needed some inspiration, because the cans are still sitting unopened in my basement. Hopefully this will help light a fire under me to get it done!

Thank you for sharing these. Looking through them made me miss my New England kitchen where I could look out across the backyard and to the birds at the feeder, and the woods beyond. So few home in my new neck of the woods have the sink at an exterior wall and under a window. The norm seems to be on a penninsula facing the family room, which isn’t bad either I guess. :)

Beck 09.16.08 at 6:31 am

Yay! :) Thankyou! It made my day getting the email to say that it was me- thankyou!
Those kitchens are great- I love the green one! One day… but for now it can go into my inspiration file.
Have a great day!

Every single one of these kitchens has something fun to offer. Now I need to take the time to see what it is about each one that is really speaking to me. It’s time for some simple changes in my humble kitchen.

For me, the kitchen is the hub of the home (I think for all women). Let’s see, which one do I like….David’s, Todd’s, Greg’s and umm Lylah’s!

I’d love a hanging pan rack….any thoughts of where to look? Needs to have some long chains cause of these HIGH ceilings.

Love this woman’s blog. It’s one of my beauty pause places.

My favoirte is Dominique Vorillon, that window is beautiful. The 2 homes that I have had the kitchen overlooked the family room and when I was growing up in Michigan we had the best window in the kitchen and I’ve always wanted my kitchen to have a window overlooking our backyard…but our new home didn’t have that but I do have a bay window overlooking the pool. I’m happy…but Dominique Vorillon is my favorite and I love that countertop..
Thanks for sharing Melissa. I love this blog!!!!

My kitchen needs a serious overhaul! I love that second one. Love those apron front sinks! Hmmm… if you have stainless appliances, is it okay to have a white apron front sink? Or should you go stainless?

First of all, you are such an inspiration to me! This blog and several others I’ve found through you have had me buzzing all day - wanting to redecorate for fall. There’s a picture in Mary Ehlbrecht’s new magazine of an outdoor area decked out for Autumn that is to DIE for! So I;m filled with ideas :-)

Meanwhile, I liked all the kitchens but I think number one appealed to me the most. I’m a sucker for lemons in a green bowl ;)

My dilemmaright now is choosing the right paint color for the kitchen. Our kitchen and dining area is small and I am tired of white but don’t want to go dark as it will close it in.

Hi Melissa!
Crazy bizzy here, too. I drove by your street the other day and “waved” from my car! Up for soccer.
Love the black/green kitchen. My dad is drawing up plans for a kitchen remodel for us! Woo Hoo! Not sure when it will happen tho.
Glad to hear you are well!

Great inspiration photos! Thanks! I especially love that first one with the green sink cabinet thingy. My cabinets are a similar color to the the main cabinets in that kitchen and I’ve been trying to figure out how I can incorporate some of that green color. I have a cool old dresser that I was thinking of painting but I just need to find a place to put it.
