I stumbled upon the House Beautiful July “Kitchen of the Month” this week. Isn’t it lovely? While it’s larger and fancier than my own kitchen, the overall layout, style, and colors reminded me a bit of mine! I have enjoyed my kitchen so much over the past few years, it’s definitely one of my favorite all time projects.
When we move to the city we’ll likely end up in an older and at least somewhat of a fixer-upper type of house, so the chances are pretty good there will be a necessary kitchen project in my future. Not mad, I love kitchens! That’s one thing that helps me to not be too sad about leaving the home I’ve grown to love, I remind myself about the enjoyable sides of creating another home and the possibility of designing another kitchen for our family. That’s my kind of fun! :)
Kitchens are my favorite.

Gray and white are definitely the “hot” colors right now. I am seeing this combination in many of my younger client’s homes. Funny how home design is fashion, always evolving and changing. I think setting up and decorating a new space can be very invigorating!
Yes, Gray and white kitchens are very hot. I choose to do the kitchen for the 2015 Atlanta Symphony Decorator’s Showhouse in those very colors and all the visitors young and old, enjoyed it!!
It does remind me of your kitchen! What fun to dream and plan for a new one! I’ll get to do that sometime in the next year. My parents will be moving in with us, and we’ll be doing a new kitchen space!
It really is similar to your kitchen, which I love by the way! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and I know it will be inspiring.
Thank you, Suzanne! :)
I’ve got a photo of a much-younger me (with a perm!) in 1985, standing next to our kitchen cabinets that I painted gray! I chose the color from Benjamin Moore’s historical color chart — betcha it’s still available! Anyway, back to this kitchen: the hexie tile floor is really wonderful, but wait! Did you notice how it blends with the adjacent wood floor? That is very unexpected, given how traditional the rest of the design is. What do you think?
That is a really unexpected twist, isn’t it? And my mom remodeled her kitchen in about 1993 with a gray and white color scheme, too! I think it’s such a nice pleasant combo, I just love it.
lovely inspirations. I like the grey and white combination. It leaves room for a variety of wonderful accent colors. Thank you for sharing. I invite you to share at my Thursday blog hop too ( you can start linking tonight at 7pm (MST) through Sat midnight) Hugs!
At first I thought it was your kitchen! Just beautiful!!
i will never fall out of love with that tile floor!! also, very happy about the ‘in style’ gray (or at least darker) grout everywhere these last years. yippee for housework!!
When I first saw the photo I thought it was your kitchen! LOL. Excited to be breaking ground on our new home in a few weeks and uber excited about the kitchen design as kitchens are MY ultimate favorite as well! The layout is designed by my husband per my specifications, but still have time for appliance styles and makes/ models and colors and type of cabinets. I have an idea what I want, but still dreaming and getting inspiration. Thanks for this post.
LOVE those stools! Wish I could find some around here…. Any idea where they came from/made?
The main rooms of our home are gray and white with a bit of color here and there. This kitchen is great! I especially love gray and white with wood in the kitchen and have some of the same. We are due for a remodel in that room but the colors and feel will stay the same.
